Meet Mini Moderns at the Whitby bookshop on 1st August between 5pm and 7pm. Join us to chat to the designers behind the iconic British brand and get your copy of their new book signed.

Join Mark and Keith of Mini Moderns as they talk about their new book Mid-Century Modern Living. Find out how they discovered mid-century design and culture, and explore the influence it has had on their award-winning designs. From the 1951 Festival of Britain via the Chelsea boutiques of the 1960s to the icons of Scandinavian design, they will offer their personal take on mid-century style. Along the way, they will share some of the stories behind Mini Moderns’ most popular designs and highlight a selection of their 20th century design heroes.

Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire from Mini Moderns

London-based designers Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire set up Mini Moderns in 2006. The brand specialises in surface patterns, applied across a range of products including wallpapers, fabrics, enamelware and stationery. The duo’s influences encompass mid-century British textiles, ceramics and collectibles, whilst their passion or social history, literature and travel has helped shape their design ethos, which they describe as creating ‘pattern with a story’. Their collective design experience spans fashion, product and interiors, as well as corporate branding and design.

Mid-Century Modern Living (£20, Kyle Books) shows you how to create a timeless mid-century look in your own home. This book is based on years of design experience, exploring the cornerstones of mid-century style through colour, pattern, materials, curation. Full of ideas to help you bring it all together, Mini Moderns show you how create your own look for every room in your house.

Come along to the Whitby bookshop between 5pm and 7pm to pick up a copy of Mid-Century Modern Living, meet the Mini Moderns design duo and get your copysigned.
